The Area

Paignton is situated in the English Rivera on the south coast between Torquay and Brixham.

The Briars is ideally situated overlooking Paignton Green, beach and pier with the harbour just a few yards away. The shops, town centre, Paignton Railway and Bus Stations, restaurants and entertainment are just a few minutes level walk away.  We are a fifteen minute stroll away from Roundham head with its fabulous views which will bring you into Goodrington with its fine beaches and family attractions including Quaywest Waterpark.

Take the Steam Train from Paignton to Dartmouth which runs along the coast, and visit Dartmouths Castle, museum and Dart Estuary.

NATIONAL TRUST

There are several National Trust places to visit close by to name a few Compton Castle (3 miles), Greenway (3 miles) Coleton Fishacre Gardens(6 miles). Another place of natural beauty is Slapton Ley National Nature Reserve.

LEISURE

We are only few minutes away from Torbay Leisure Centre(1 mile) for the more energetic with its swimming pool, fitness centre, squash courts,sauna and sunbed area.   Churston Golf Club and Dainton Park Golf club are also within 6 miles away.

Newton Abbot and Exeter Race Courses are within easy reach for those interested in the sport of kings!

There are numerous theatres in the area with shows and musicals throughout the year, the main ones being The Palace Theatre Paignton,  The Princess Theatre Torquay and Babbacoombe Theatre Babbacoombe .
